West Stonesdale

West Stonesdale is between Keld in Swaledale and the world famous Tan Hill Inn, Britain’s highest pub. This is also true walking country on both the Pennine Way, which was Britain’s first long distance footpath, and Alfred Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk along with many other shorter walks.

The River Swale nearby has a series of waterfalls, locally called forces, and many people will recognise Wain Wath Force, Kisdon Force, East Gill Force and Catrake Force, all only a short walk or drive away.

West Stonesdale is home for the Black Grouse.
